Daytona Drag Variator - Ruckn

The first thing most people do when they get a Honda Ruckus, is the whole “I need more power!” mindset. There are many ways to go about this. For the most part starting with a great running Ruckus will benefit you in the end. Like a strong battery, good tire pressure, good clean air-filter, and making sure you don’t over-fill the oil – this is a big one.

With all those possibilities out of the way on to getting more power. The absolute best thing you can do is a variator. I highly recommend reading through BattleScooter’s CVT basics documentation. You will walk away with a much more fundamental understanding of what a variator does.

So after lots of research and talking with Jason over at BattleScooter I came to the conclusion that for my riding conditions and weight the Daytona Drag Variator would be best for me. It is designed to give more torque and keeps the revs up higher. Which, also means with this particular kit you will need to upgrade you CDI as well. If you do not your bike will “Rev Out” and bump off the rev-limiter all day.

I am so happy the way my bike performs after the CDI and Daytona Drag kit. It is absolutely night and day. It feels like a whole new bike, and since I dont ever plan to do a motor swap, I’m trying to get the most out of this little motor I can.

Battle scooter has a great documentation on installing variatiors, it is relatively simple if you follow the steps, and it does help if you have an impact gun.
